IOWA testing is now complete! PARCC end of year testing will be upon us shortly. Please remember to bring your child to school on time and well rested to help support a successful test session. May the scores be with you! This week in the library...Students were introduced to the genre of Historical Fiction. Over the next few weeks, students will be exposed to picture books and novels that allow them to learn about different times in history. Currently, 1st and 2nd grade students are learning about slavery and the Underground Railroad while reading the book Henry's Freedom Box by Ellen Levine. 3rd graders will begin learning about the Civil War while reading I Survived: The Battle of Gettysburg, 1863 by Lauren Tarshis. 4th grade students are learning about the Titanic as we read White Star: A Dog on the Titanic by Marty Crisp. As they listen to historical fiction, students will also be working on an exciting opportunity...more details coming soon! Book Madness!Corresponding with basketball's March Madness, students have been voting to choose the #1 chapter book and the #1 picture book! We began with 8 chapter books and 8 picture books - the most circulated in our library. Each week students have voted and narrowed down to our final pair (see below). Which book should be the #1 chapter book? Which book should be the #1 picture book?
