What a week! Many students have been in and out due to sickness. Please remind your child to always wash their hangs, use hand sanitizer when necessary, and cover their mouth when coughing and/or sneezing. Taking these simple precautions will help keep those pesky germs away from your child at school. This week students have continued working on their projects. First and second graders are responding to the book The Day the Crayons Quit. Third and fourth graders are planning their dream vacations, looking more in depth at various tourism websites to find attractions and accommodations. Kindergartners read the book Jangles: A Big Fish Story by David Shannon, a nominee for the 2014-2015 Arkansas Diamond Primary Book Award. The students greatly enjoyed the illustrations and the funny things Jangles the fish did. Students in grades K-3 who read at least 3 of the award nominees will be able to help choose the winner of the book award. Kindergartners are looking forward to sharing their opinion in March! THE BOOK FAIR IS COMING, THE BOOK FAIR IS COMING! Come to our Book Fair February 16-20. The fair will be open from 8:00-3:30pm daily. Thursday, February 19th, the night of Parent Teacher Conferences, will be the grand event! Be sure to stop by to grab a little snack, play a game, purchase tickets to win one of TEN prize baskets, and shop an amazing selection of books! Volunteers are needed during the week to help students shop and on Thursday evening to help manage the prize baskets, games, and snacks. Contact Mrs. Lehew today to volunteer! Read a book (or two) and enjoy your weekend! Weekly Top 10
