Today was a great start to our week in the library! Students worked cooperatively and diligently...and...NEW BOOKS ARRIVED...including...the NEWEST Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul! Two more shipments should be arriving within the next couple of weeks. Get excited! Students are continuing their animal research. Between now and Christmas, 1st and 2nd grade will begin creating posters to present their information, and 3rd and 4th graders will use Powtoon or Google Slides to share their information. Throughout the research process, I have stressed the importance of using information responsibly. We have discussed the idea of plagiarism and the importance of creating original work. Students are learning to simply cite their sources, giving the credit where credit is due. Students are doing well and creating excellent citation lists! This Week's Top 5: 1. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Roderick Rules 2. Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3. More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark 4. I Survived! The Sinking of the Titanic, 1912 5. Captain Underpants and the Return of Tippy Tinkletrousers
